State Representative Bill Roemer participated in the Veterans Memorial Dedication Ceremony held by the City of Norton on July 4, 2025. The ceremony was organized to honor military veterans who served in various branches.
The event included a tribute from the 555th Honors Detachment to recognize local veterans and their families for their contributions.
“It is our solemn duty to remember and honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of our veterans,” stated Roemer. “This memorial stands as a lasting tribute to their service and a reminder to all of us of the freedoms they have secured."
Retired Major General James Hodge delivered the keynote speech. Hodge concluded his military career as commanding general at Fort Lee, Virginia.
The new memorial reflects the community's gratitude towards veterans and marks an important moment in Norton's history.
