State Representative Bill Roemer of Richfield participated as the Grand Marshal at the Akron Soap Box Derby, an educational program focused on STEM for students from grades 3 to 12. The event featured students from local schools in the greater Akron area and beyond, who constructed and raced gravity-powered cars. The competition serves as a qualifier for the annual Soap Box Derby World Championship held in Akron, Ohio.

Roemer expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “The Soap Box Derby is a fun tradition that teaches students STEM and leadership skills.”

The International Soap Box Derby was established in 1934 in Akron, Ohio, and is recognized as the official sanctioning body of Soap Box Derby racing.
