Summit County Sheriff's Office We have been made aware of yet another series of fraudulent calls from scammers claiming to be deputies/staff of the Summit County Sheriff's Office

095e

We have been made aware of yet another series of fraudulent calls from scammers claiming to be deputies/staff of the Summit County Sheriff's Office. Recipients are being told that they've failed to respond to a jury notification and now have a warrant out for their arrest, or that one of their family members has been arrested and that the Sheriff' Office is requesting money to pay their bond. They are then asked to remit payment through a pre-paid credit card, in some cases in excess of $2,000.

To be clear, the Sheriff's Office does NOT ask for or accept payment for anything via telephone. If you have received such a call and want to verify its legitimacy, you can contact our Dispatch at (330) 643-2181.
