On this date in 1933, William C. State, "the man who built Goodyear," died after a brief illness. Papers across the country carried the news. Mr. State worked at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 32 years as an inventor, engineer and executive. This painting, given by Goodyear to the Society, is one of State's most famous structural accomplishments, the Air Dock at Akron Fulton Airport.
