Summit County Historical Society issued the following announcement on March 3.
The Society will be partnering with The University of Akron for their ReThinking Race series with an encore showing of the Community Talk Back: Conversations About the Local African American Community that was taped live on February 19th.

Local historian and Society director emeritus, Dave Lieberth, will give a history overview followed by moderator, John Williams, introducing our panelists.
Lester Carney, 1960 200 Meter Olympic Silver Medalist, reliving his monumental experience.
Reverend Ronald Fowler, Sr. discussing his work at the Arlington Church of God and a special congregant, Dorothy O. Jackson, first African American cabinet member for Akron's Mayor.
Mike Williams sharing about the life and legacy of his father, The Honorable Judge James R. Williams.
Dr. Sylvester Small telling his work as the first African American Akron Public Schools superintendent.
Towanda Mullins, chair of the Sojourner Truth Statue project, alerting the community about how they can become involved in carrying out Truth's legacy
Ruby Nash Garnett reminiscing her singing career with Ruby and the Romantics.
The John Brown Institute Task Force is producing this program under the leadership of its chair, GinaKaye Maddox. It was founded by Society staff member Reva Golden.
