City of Akron, Ohio issued the following announcement on February 26.
Congratulations are in order as today marks the last day of current Deputy Mayor for Labor Relations, Randy Briggs! Randy has been in his current position since 2013 and will be enjoying a step back into a part time role after today. Please join us in congratulating him on his years of public service.
“Randy Briggs has been an invaluable member of my team since I first took office. I have come to rely on his depth of knowledge in his field along with his well-known humor, as both have been needed throughout my tenure. I am pleased to have Randy staying on in a part-time capacity to lend his expertise as he gets to enjoy a well-earned step back from the full-time role a Cabinet member commits to. I thank Randy for his years of public service and congratulate him on a distinguished career." -Mayor Horrigan
