In 1971, Akron paramedics responded to 6,463 calls for service. At that time, there were 330 members on the fire department. Since 2016-2020, Akron paramedics responded to 40,013, 40,387, 42,477, 43,547 and 42,317. During the pandemic, run volume slowed, but again is showing an uptick in calls for service each year.
Local 330 is proud of the work of all if it's current, former, and future paramedics. With their hard work, the citizens and visitors to Akron can rest easy knowing that each and every medical emergency will be treated with some of the best and brightest paramedics in Ohio.
