State Rep. Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) recently attended a Copley Township Trustee meeting to discuss the funding awarded for the Copley Road Trail East in Substitute House Bill 2, alongside State Senator Kristina Roegner. The bill is part of the state's two-year construction budget for capital projects across Ohio.

Copley Township will receive $500,000 for the Copley Road Trail Project to cover construction and engineering costs to connect Copley Circle to Copley Park.

“I’m encouraged to see the increasing interest in walking and biking trails across our area,” said Roemer. “Trail improvements will create more efficient connecting routes to our schools, neighborhoods, and businesses.”

“Representative Roemer has represented Copley Township incredibly well. Copley Township has received funding from the State Capital Fund for two years in a row thanks to his efforts,” said Copley Trustee Jim Schulte. “This award would not be possible without the assistance of State Senator Kristina Roegner and State Representative Bill Roemer.”

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed the legislation on June 28, connecting Copley Township residents through the improved Copley Road Trail East.
