COLUMBUS—State Representative Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) recently toured CHC Addiction Services to discuss the transformational funding received from Substitute House Bill 2, in conjunction with State Senator Roegner, the state's two-year construction budget for capital projects across Ohio.

CHC Addiction Services will receive $1.25 million to develop a recently purchased blighted property adjacent to several of its current operating properties. This project aims to centralize in-patient and out-patient services and facilitate the addition of a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and a pharmacy.

“The number of Ohioans in need of addiction treatment and recovery has grown over the years,” Roemer said. “CHC Addiction Services has made great strides to help our state's most vulnerable by providing comprehensive prevention, treatment, and recovery services for addictive and compulsive behaviors and disorders. Funding from the Capital Budget will ensure that more Ohioans receive the help they need to live up to their greatest potential."

"The entire team at CHC Addiction Services is grateful for the consideration and support of Representative Roemer in the recently completed state capital bill process. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation recently reported increased use of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and meth in the Akron/Canton region, with Akron as a meth trafficking hub," said Wagner. "This grant will help us meet these growing needs for services in a safe and therapeutic environment. Representative Roemer's recognition of those in need within our community is exceptional. We are fortunate to have his leadership in Columbus."

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed the legislation on June 28, supporting the non-profit's need to expand services to Summit County residents.
