University of Akron women's soccer freshman Emma King (Akron, Ohio) was recognized by the Mid-American Conference as its Women's Soccer Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
King turned in a solid week for the Zips registering team-high marks in goals (2) and points (4) on the strength of three shots, all on goal, in a pair of draws for Akron.
In the Zips' 1-1 draw at Ball State, she connected on a second-half equalizer to help the Akron earn a 1-1 road draw against the Cardinals on Oct. 13. She followed with a first-half goal versus Central Michigan on Oct. 16 in a 2-2 draw.
On the year, King owns four goals to go along with a team-high marks in assists (2), shots (19) and shots on goal (11).
