A goal in the 81st minute (80:14) lifted Miami (6-3-2, 2-1-1 MAC) to a come-from-behind 2-1 triumph past the University of Akron women's soccer team in Mid-American Conference action on Sunday, Oct. 2.
"I think we are finding growth in each game," Akron head coach Jen Simonetti commented. "Today we utilized the needed intensity in the game to compete for 90 minutes, and we are still finding ways to score. We need to be more dedicated in our individual roles to create more positive moments."
The Zips (1-6-2, 0-4-0 MAC) garnered a goal from sophomore Ella Hadley (Concord, Ohio) at the 15:31 mark off an assist from freshman Ari Mahoney (Medina, Ohio).
Sophomore GK Penelope Cuirinier (Mionnay, France) had a strong performance for Akron pulling in eight saves in net for the Zips.
Hadley led Akron with a team-high two shots.
