University of Akron Seventh After 36 Holes of Jennifer Duke Invitational

The Akron Zips opened the 2022-23 season at the Jennifer Duke Invitational hosted by the University of Cincinnati at the Losantiville Country Club on Monday.

Akron posted a 635 (+67) team total after 36 holes at the Par 71, 6,075-yard Orange course. Jacinta Pikunas led Akron's scoring with rounds of 79 (+8) and 78 (+7) for a 157 (+15) total after 36 holes, ranking 27th overall. Avery Wright followed in scoring for the Zips with a 158 (+16) ledger with 80 (+9) and 78 (+7) scores. Jessica Hahn posted a 161 (+19), while Daphne Van Son and Abbi Fleiner rounded out the scoring with 162 (+20) and 163 (+21) scores, respectively.

The final round of the Jennifer Duke Invitational is slated for an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start as the Zips are scheduled to tee off from holes 10 through 13 – Pikunas (10), Wright (11a), Hahn (11b), van Son (12) and Fleiner (13).
